Not so fast

After I my last post on Saturday Ava was acting very comfortable and content. As she had previously tried for a world record in seeing how many diapers an eleven month old can soil in one day, we were starting to run short on the butt-huggers. Since she appeared to be doing well we figured we could make a quick family trip to Target and replenish our stock. Target is probably 5 miles from our house. Just as we were getting off the highway... with the store in sight... Ava coughs a couple times.. gags.... and spews all over herself, her blanket, her carseat, the bench seat in the car, the door, etc. As you can imagine, Ava was not very happy about this. Weighing our options quickly, we decide it would be best to go straight home and deal with it instead of trying to start cleaning things up in the parking lot. I don't think it has ever taken that long for me to travel those 5 miles back home. Ava cried the WHOLE way home. After the stomach eruption Doni moved to the back seat to try to calm Ava down. Ava couldn't seem to understand why Mom couldn't take her out of her seat and hold her as we drove back home. (This isn't the first time Ava's body functions and our SUV have had a run in. I refer you to "Is that urine? Cause, it's not my-ine" and "Garage Sale-ing".)

This was the last time she's thrown up and her appetite has returned. She's back to her normal smiling, laughing, scurrying self and I couldn't be happier.
