Moving Days

Thursday was the big moving day. We enlisted the help of our friends from church to come over and move the big stuff. One of our friends has a little boy, Alex, who is over a year old but really loves his parents and wants to be next to them at every waking moment. As soon as everyone got to the house we all started carrying boxes and furniture out to the trailer. Alex did not like this and began screaming and crying. Not to be left out, Ava also began crying even though she didn't know what she was crying about. Everyone spent the next two hours carrying boxes out to the tune of two crying toddlers. Eventually we put them to work carrying light stuff like toys and pillows. Apparently all they wanted to do was help.

Last Friday Ava and I went to buy groceries and thought we would stop by the old house to pick up the rest of the food there. It was in the 90's so I brought Ava in the house to cool off while I packed all the food. Once I got in I started working and Ava ran by me and into the living room. Once there I heard, "Oh No! Oh No! Mommy Oh No!" I didn't really know what she would be oh noing but when I went to check it out I realized that this was the first time she had seen the house without furniture. I tried to explain that our furniture was at the new house but it fell on deaf ears as Ava ran into her old room yelling. "Oh NOOOOOO! MOOOOOMMMMMYYYYY!" Instead of trying to explain I finished packing the food and we left to go find our furniture at the new house.

Ava's new toy room with ALL of her toys.

Now that we live kind of in the country I am finding more bugs then I did at the old place. I am toughing up but it is hard. The most annoying would have to be the flies. I don't know where they are coming from but it seems that after I wear one out and kill it two more appear. To make matters worse we do not own a fly swatter so I have been using newspapers. Today I was sitting in the kitchen reading and Ava came running up jabbering about something and grabbed the newspaper I had been using as a fly swatter. She ran back into the living room smacking the heck out of everything she came in contact with. I stood up so I could see better and sure enough there was a fly trying not to get smacked by a two year old. She never did get it but at least she tried.

It took me about 15 minutes to read that post. Its not because I'm retarded or anything, but I was laughing so hard that people kept coming up to my desk and asking what I was laughing at! I had to re-read it quite a few times. I can just see Ava running around after that fly! Bet he was scared to death!
