That's What A Potty Is For!

Yesterday Doni's school had a two-hour delay so the morning was more relaxed than usual. She and Ava got up about 8 o'clock. To Doni's surprise, Ava's diaper wasn't the swollen to near-bursting balloon that it usually is in the morning. Ava was actually dry! Doni took her downstairs and sat her on the potty. The only way Ava will sit on the potty for any length of time is if she is distracted, so she sat on her potty in the middle of our living room watching TV (she's a big fan of Spongebob Squarepants).

Surprise of all surprises.... she actually peed! This was the first time she had actually used her potty for its intended purpose instead of wearing it around on her head like a hat! Doni congratulated her and put a diaper on. Minutes later Ava's diaper was full to near overflowing. I guess she was just toying with us.
