Ohio - Show me what ya' got (Part 1)

This month we went on a Midwest-style road trip through the big ol' state of Ohio. We planned on hitting the 3 big C's, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland. Because our calendar for the month of July was packed tighter than the thighs of The Hulk's shorts, we left the morning after Doni got home from a 4 day jaunt in Kansas City with some college friends. I'd tell you how excited she was to get in the car for a road-trip after driving 9 hours the previous day, but believe me, neither of us have the time or that.

We started out with a quick two-hour drive to Cincinnati (actually Newport, KY) to go to the Newport Aquarium. After briefly taking a detour due to being in the wrong turn lane, we got straightened out and parked in the maze of underground parking. Normally we would have balked at the aquarium's $18 entrance fee, but, hey, this is vacation! It was a very nice aquarium with (strangely) a Lorikeet feeding area. One question... Why are there birds at an aquarium?!?!

The next day we left bright and early for Columbus. Halfway there we stopped at an outlet mall where they had a store with kitchen supplies. The store had samples of dips set out for guests to peruse. Impressed with a garlic-flavored oil and spice combo for dipping bread into (like "Fine Italian Dining" as the bottle proposed), we purchased it and finished our trip to Colllluuuuuuummmmmbus!
